Alona Jennings

My name is Alona Jennings, by day I am a Sr. Instructional Designer and by night a STEM Super Hero.

No, but seriously, I am the co-founder and program director for Operation Innovate, Inc. dba Code for Hood

Currently I am a contract/freelancer as an Instructional designer/ Technical Writer. I create classroom training and eLearning for non-profits, start ups and several Fortune 500 companies. I have consulted for PG&E, Morgan Stanley, BNSF Railway, and Robert Half International.

Over the years I have coordinated and directed multiple youth programs in the Sacramento area, from owning and directing child care centers, developing city funded initiatives for youth leadership programs, code for hood hackathons, to our most recent success Code for Hood Digital Badge Bootcamp.

I am really into working hard and playing even harder. In my spare time you can find me spending time with daughter, attending Zumba/dancehall class, playing video games, hanging out with my family and my 19 nieces and nephews, watching Football (Go Raiders) or enjoying a good book outside on the patio.
